You’ll see the light, just keep looking.

How do you stand out in a crowd?  How do you stand out to customers?  At times it can seem like you are too similar to your competitors.  You’ve tried and tried to adjust your sales pitch, your packaging or your product.  But no real difference has been achieved.

You, just a little brighter.

Maybe you need to take a step back and look around.  Go for a drive at night on the highway.  Drive around for about 20 minutes and you know what you’ll see, Xenon headlights.  Not everywhere but just once in a while you’ll see a set coming at you.  You’ll see that the other headlights are yellow compared to the Xenon headlights.  They all look the same compared to the Xenon lights.

How can you be a Xenon in your industry?  You’re still you but you need to brighten your approach.  How do you stick out against all the rest?  That’s the question for you to figure out.  Go and clear your head by going for a drive and see if you can see the light.

    Hi Matt,
You ask a very telling question — perhaps the biggest question that businesses always pose and work on. Wherein lies the answer: To always work on it in diverse ways. The answer could be a small change or a major innovation. Look close, look far. Look straight and look sideways. The answers are there — as you say, are you looking!

    Have a great day..

I had a great conversation with a friend this weekend. He actually helped me with this very dilemma.

I need to become my customers (at least think like they do). They are totally different than me. I must study them, what they do and how they do it in order to gain a better insight.

    It was eye opening.

He is a computer programmer yet his logic was crystal clear. I’m energized.
