5 steps to go from Dreamer to Do-er

You need to dream big.  I’m not here to squash your dreams.  If you’ve read half a dozen of my blog posts you’ll see that you need to have dreams.  You are only limited by your own fear.  Conquer that fear.  Visualize your success.  This is a very powerful exercise.  See yourself being successful and you will start to believe that you can achieve greatness.

What are you going to do with that idea?

At some point you need to act on those dreams otherwise you’re just, well dreaming.  You need to take action.  You need to put your dreams into action.  Make a plan;

  1. Write it down, just spill your thoughts all over page
  2. Organize what you wrote down
  3. Make a timeline
  4. Organize resources
  5. Execute your timeline and refine along the way

 Dreamers are fun to hang out with.  They have wild ideas that sound plausible.  They can imagine the most spectacular things that no one has ever thought of.  And yet, what do they have to show for it?  Have they started down the path of DOING?

Be a Do-er.  Organize your thoughts and go and make your dream reality.  You can do it.

    Hey Matt

    Here’s something I do that has made a BIG difference in making my dreams happen and it keys off of your tip “write it down”.

    Instead of sitting down with blank paper and trying to plan it all out (which often is overwhelming), write down thoughts whenever and wherever you get them! Sounds trivial yet it isn’t — especially if you are even a little extroverted. Daily interactions, online activity, news reports, etc… will give you all sorts of ideas for making your dream come true.

    Capture the ideas as they surface and your dream will more like take shape.

    Ideas hit us at unexpected times. It’s good to be prepared. It’s strange how the mind works.
